The international hacker group, Anonymous, has struck again, making Apple the latest victim in a string of recent cyber-attacks on major corporations.
The breach rates fairly minor compared to others in recent weeks, as the hackers only accessed a system used to process follow-up surveys relating to technical support. They also obtained 27 internal Apple user names and passwords, all of which were posted online, however no customer data was compromised.
There has been no response about the attacks from Apple as yet, although they did take the server offline.
In a Twitter post, Anonymous said the attack could have been worse, but the company was not a major focus. “Apple could be a target, too. But don’t worry, we are busy elsewhere,” they said in a tweet.
