There isn’t a lot to say about this, but it’s very cool and worth a read:

Want to secure your computer with the same techniques used by the National Security Agency? Turns out the NSA has published guides for securing Windows, Mac, Linux, and Solaris operating systems using methods that “are currently being used throughout the government and by numerous entities as a security baseline for their systems.”

I read through the OS X document and it’s easy to read and doesn’t require a visit from your friendly-neighborhood-geek to implement. Sure some of the suggestions seem arcane and extreme, but they are all valid. Check out the whole set of documents on the NSA site.

And no, none of the suggestions include suggestions to leave a backdoor open for the Government to snoop.
